If you know you are going to have several photography shoots a year, why not get a discount and hire your photographer on a retainer?
It's a win/win situation. You have photography work that needs to be done over the next year and every time you have a photo shoot, you have to scramble to pull the shoot together. The photographer will most likely give you a discount for the repeat business and you get great work several times a year. You should also get first crack at the photographer's schedule.
Even if your photo shoots vary a bit, you can make the contract with the photographer so that it has parameters that are agreeable to both parties.
Because of social media, you need lots of content in the form of photos and videos, and user generated content is just not the same as professional photography. Your photographer can shoot several times a year to provide you with this content.
Any shoots or shoot days that are not used up in a calendar year can roll over the following year.
It's a new way of doing business but it could be a great way to get consistent marketing imagery from a photographer you trust and enjoy working with.
